Presilva Woodstain ZK is a highly transparent, water-based wood protection product. Specially developed for indoor and outdoor use on non-dimension-stable timberwork such as cladding, wooden structures and rebated panelling.
Presilva Woodstain ZK is a highly transparent, water-based, semi-film-forming wood protection product based on modified acrylic resin. Specially developed for indoor and outdoor use on non-dimensionally stable timberwork such as cladding, wooden structures and rebated cladding. Presilva Woodstain ZK can be applied with a brush, roller or industrially. The wood structure is beautifully accentuated. The product penetrates deep into the wood and gives it an attractive, semi-film-forming colour. The thin layer makes it easier to wash the surface and dirt will be less likely to adhere to a smoother surface. Presilva Woodstain ZK is water-repellent, does not stain and can be used as a primer, undercoat and topcoat.
Application Method: Spraying, vacuum coating, dipping, brushing and rolling.
Processing Conditions: The product should be applied at a minimum temperature of 7˚C, 75% R.H., and the ambient and substrate temperature should be at least 3 degrees higher than the dew point temperature. Stir and check the colour before use. End grains must be sealed with 2 coats of Presilva Oraseal. The non-visible side of the wood should be sprayed with the first coat. The wood moisture content should be no more than 18%. Maintenance painting over existing layer of Presilva Woodstain ZK: In the case of maintenance painting, a minimum of 80 g/m² should be applied.
Pre-treatment:
New paintwork: The wooden surface must be clean, dry, free of grease, sanded (down to the sound wood) and free of dust and other impurities.
Maintenance painting over existing layer of Presilva Woodstain ZK: The wooden surface must be clean, dry, free of grease, lightly sanded (grain P400, in the direction of the wood fibres) and free of dust and other impurities.
Drying Time:
At drying conditions of 15˚C and 60% R.H.:
− Dust dry after approx. 30 min.
- Tack-free after approx. 1.5 hours
- Recoatable after approx. 3 hours
- Through-drying after at least 38 hours. Drying times are approximate and may vary depending on wood quality, wet film thickness, humidity, temperature and ventilation.
